Thank you for coming to my Global Brigades page! My name is Carleigh. I am the co-President of this year's Medical Brigade, and I am so excited! I am currently a senior at St. Olaf College majoring in Biology and Spanish with plans to attend medical school in the future to work in pediatrics or family medicine. I love serving others and learning more about medicine and how different countries and cultures experience and perceive health. I went on my first Medical Brigade in January of 2016, and fell in love with the organization. It was an eye-opening opportunity that sparked a passion for public health. This year, I am one of the Chapter Presidents of the Medical Brigade to Honduras. One of the many reasons I am going this January is to help communities have necessary and adequate access to health care and health education. This will be a wonderful opportunity to serve others and gain valuable experience in medicine as well as immersion in the Spanish language in a medical context.
