Muraho Family and Friends,

As many of you know, I will be completing my International Business degree at the University of Southern California this May. After I graduate in the spring, I am excited announce that I will be spending my summer in a rural village of Rwanda through a program called ThinkImpact.

ThinkImpact is a global social enterprise that seeks to empower both aspiring entrepreneurs and individuals from underdeveloped countries to create incremental changes and positive growth. Through social innovation and design thinking, I will be collaborating with the local community members to build a team and develop creative solutions in addressing the challenges. While entrepreneurship is one of the goals, the main objective is to empower the community to recognize their potential and take ownership of their skills.

This eight-week journey consists of three phases: immersion, inspiration and innovation. My time in Rwanda will enable me to build relationships, learn about a new culture, and exercise my entrepreneurial skills to develop on both a personal and professional level. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be selected for this opportunity!

At this time, the total cost for the program, airfare and homestay is approximately $7,000. I received a scholarship from the Marshall School of Business as a representative from our university, however, I am still looking to fundraise the remainder of the expenses. Additionally, I will be sure to document my experiences to share with all of you upon return in late August.
