I am very excited to head to South America this summer! I love doing hands on work that I know will directly encourage a healthier, better lifestyle. This two week trip is important to me in many different ways. First, I am so incredibly blessed to grow up in America and I felt that it was time that I gave back to the global community in hopes of aiding a country to grow out of the state of poverty. I hope to put my hands to work to bring hope of a better life to Honduras, even if it is just for a short period of time. Secondly, I think that being provided basic medical/ dental care and fresh, clean water is extremely important for human health and I know that in many developing countries, these are not readily provided. I hope that I will be able to make a difference in the communities by doing all that I can to bring clean and drinkable water into the community and provide basic anti-biotics for those in need.
