Passionate About:

First and foremost it would have to be my family. I think its so important and so fulfilling to create bonds with the people that have always been there. They are the reason Im so passionate about helping people to begin with. Sometimes you just want to save the world and fix everyone's problems, and you feel like you cant alone and in one sweep, but even the smallest of steps taken will change a life. It brings hope and thats what we need. I absolutely love music and painting for what it is and as a way of expressing oneself. I love getting caught up in those things!

Volunteer Activity Description

Medical Brigades at Syracuse University is a chapter of Global Brigades, the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. The Syracuse chapter systematically works with more than 300 other university groups around the world to deliver and implement one of nine skill-based programs that benefit more than 130,000 Honduran and Panamanian community members annually.

Global Medical Brigades develops sustainable health initiatives and provides relief where there is limited access to healthcare. Each community receives a brigade every 3 to 4 months where hundreds of patients are treated and volunteers deliver public health workshops. Electronic patient records are collected for future visitations and to monitor overall community health trends.
