Community service has been a substantial part of my life for as long as I can remember. The experiences I've been privileged to be a part of have shaped me into the compassionate, dedicated and patient person I am today. My community service career began through church, but as I grow I am continuing to seek out other opportunities to help others in need. I have worked with the elderly, underprivileged youth, the impoverished and even contributed to disaster relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina. My work has taken place in multiple states, cities and suburbs, but my next goal is to leave the country. I would love the opportunity to take my passion abroad and help those who lack resources we take for granted in the U.S. As I work towards my dream of becoming a Social Worker, I hope this trip will be the first of many more to come. I wish to educate myself about the world and see first-hand the disadvantages other countries are facing. Please help me help others by contributing to my trip to Nicaragua!
