This school year I am participating in a club on Rice University campus called Volunteers Around the World, which allows a group of students to go abroad for two weeks to participate in a medical outreach program. We will be in Cusco, Peru and will be both volunteering and shadowing in a mobile clinic as well as teaching education classes to children. I am super excited for this trip for many reasons, but my passion for medical outreach and helping others is why I am so excited to finally get to participate in such a great program.
