I have always had a passion for traveling, and being a Geography major has opened my eyes to opportunities that I never thought would be possible. When people hear Geography they immediately think maps, but Geography is so much more than that. Geography essentially studies the relationships among natural systems, geographic areas, society, cultural activities, and the interdependence of all of these over space and time. I am extremely passionate about our environment, and creating a better, more sustainable future for all of us, as well as educating people on how to take care of our world and coexist peacefully.

In Boaco, Nicaragua, they have experienced severe damage to their soils making it very difficult for locals to continue to farm their own crops. With this program, I will have the opportunity to works hands on with the people of Boaco to help educate them on how to grow crops in their current situation. What better way to study the relationships between the people of Boaco and their land, than to see it first hand, and help them.
