VOLUNTEER MATCH ASSIGNMENT:
BUHO OKHY Elementary School was found to respond to the need of good quality of education quality to children in the Santa Cruz area and surrounding. It was named BÚHO (Owl), because for its founder this bird represents wisdom, respect, effort and discipline. The school is not in the best condition in terms of structure due to an accidental fire that happened a few years ago. The 41 students between the ages 3 to 13 years old belong to a low social rank. Their parents work as taxi drivers, farmers, teachers and most of them are single mothers. Having a modest job, they work hard to pay 70,000 colones (120 USD) every year hoping their kids will have a better opportunities though a good education. Most of the parents bring their kids from Santa Cruz town, Arado, Santa Bárbara, 27 de abril, Chircó, Lagunilla, Villarreal, Cartagena y Hatillo.

PROJECT ASSIGNMENT:
-Construct a recycling bin station for the school to utilize
-Assist in rebuilding the playground in the front of the school with benches and tables for
break
-Paint educational murals
-Help the teaching staff in the classroom as needed



Individual Program Contribution: $2490 per student including airfare

Due Dates: Application & $350 deposit due October 30th, 2018, final balance due 60 days prior

Group Contribution: $1500 total per group towards the "General Donation" donated 100% host enrichment project
