Rebuild Nepal: The Internship

Anne's Message

I heard about the Nepal earthquake almost as soon as it happened in April 2015. It wasn't long afterwards that a friend of mine started Conscious Impact, an organization dedicated to culturally sensitive, sustainable, community-based recovery in the village of Takure, Nepal. Since age 14, after the first of many service-learning experiences abroad, I have wanted to live my life as a steward of the world. It's what drove me to earn a Master's Degree in Disaster Science and Management as well as two Bachelor's in Interpersonal Communications and Sociology w/an Emergency and Environmental Management Concentration. I want to use that education and my volunteer experience to aid a hurting community struggling with the wreckage of disaster. More than that, I want to learn all that I can and take those lessons with me into my career and the rest of my life.

Just as every drop of water fills an empty bucket, every small donation brings us one step closer to a more resilient world. I am eternally grateful to anyone willing to give back to the world with me.
