As a Biomedical Science major, science and medicine have always been an interest to me. It wasn't until this year in my global health class that I truly became interested in public health. After realizing the hard truth that many countries do not get the luxury of easy access health care (that the US has become so accustomed to), I set out to make any difference I could. It is with the Global Brigades that I plan to travel to Panama in January. The goal of this trip is to make as big of an impact as possible and to attempt to give the citizens of the country even a sliver of the health care they deserve.
