I am a 20 year-old student at the University of Toledo and a 1st-time brigader. I am hoping to attend medical school at the University of Toledo Medical College by graduating with a degree in Biology. I live out my life with compassion and care for other people, hoping to help those around me in a positive way and have based my career decisions off the idea of service. I believe that by participating in the medical mission trip, through Global Medical Brigades, I will be able to directly help those in need through medicinal practices and tangible healthcare goals. I also believe that I will learn, grow, and gain just as much knowledge from this experience as the community impacted by the trip. I hope to gain experience and valuable insight by shadowing licensed physicians, giving healthcare checkups, and teaching the community about long-term healthcare. These practices will help me grow and utilize these skills in my future career as a healthcare professional.
