I am fortunate enough to be participating in this great opportunity for the first time with my student organization. As a recent graduate in the Public Health field at San José State University, this trip and what it stands for means even more than before. This trip enables me to help others while further developing my own skills in health services as well as my leadership skills. As a new Public Health graduate, I am always looking for opportunities to put to use all of the hard work and knowledge gained from my education at San José State University. My plan is, in the near future, to be accepted into a Global Health Master’s program, where I will focus on the health of adolescent girls and women across the world. I am blessed enough to be participating in a great opportunity with my student organization on campus that enables me to help others while further developing my own skills in health services. On this service trip I have the chance to personally work with under-resourced communities in Honduras to enhance the Public Health to the community.
