I enjoy learning new subjects and helping others. I want to go on this trip to experience a different setting than what I am used to. Because I want to become a doctor, I feel that it is vital that I become familiar of the great disparities in the world and how certain ideas of health here in America may be so commonplace but in other places the very same ideas may very much be novelties or ideas that could never be realized given current resources and knowledge. Even if I do not learn much just knowing that I did my best to help a community learn more about health and taking better care of themselves would be a major accomplishment in itself. People in this area struggle day to day not realizing how important health care is and just how much it would help them in day to day life.
