Passionate About:

My passion lies in creating equitable healthcare opportunities for underserved communities, particularly for those facing language barriers and systemic neglect. Growing up in a predominantly Hispanic community near the Mexican border, I witnessed firsthand the challenges undocumented individuals and non-English speakers face when navigating the healthcare system. These experiences have fueled my determination to become a physician who not only provides medical care but also advocates for justice and compassion in healthcare.
Through hands-on experiences, like serving as a caregiver for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients, I’ve seen how impactful a supportive and empathetic healthcare professional can be. I am deeply committed to developing my skills, understanding the complexities of patient care, and addressing the mental and emotional needs of those I serve. My passion for this field extends beyond clinical work—I strive to implement policies and initiatives that bridge gaps in care and ensure healthcare is a right for everyone, regardless of their background or status.

VAW Global at Texas A&M University Team B will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Dominican Republic. One of the most exciting and important parts of interning with VAW Global is bringing medication to the less fortunate. In 2023, VAW Global treated over 17,500 patients and we aspire to treat over 20,000 in 2024! One of the things that makes our mobile clinics unique is that we not only triage and diagnose patients but also provide them with the basic medications needed. Fundraising for medications is a huge part of creating a successful mobile clinic to help the local communities with effective care. **Note: Airfare is not included
