Hello Everyone!

My name is Diego Raya Hernandez; I am currently a student at California Sate University, Sacramento, majoring in Biological Sciences. As you all know me, my goal in life is to become a doctor and provide help for those in need. For the last two years in college, I have been involved with several organizations that are contributing to build a strong resume, to get into medical school. Volunteers Around the World (VAW) is one of the organizations I am a part of, which provides students with the opportunities to travel outside of the United Sates. VAW outreaches to people in developing countries and supplies them with medical assistance needed. Last summer, I had the great opportunity to travel to Bocas del Toro, Panama. We stayed in Bocas for two weeks, providing health assistance and medications to people in small islands surrounding Bocas del Toro Island. This year, I have the opportunity to travel to Cusco, Peru with the similar goals and determinations. This opportunity would help me to develop my professional knowledge. I respectfully ask my family and friends for any donations to reach my goal of $1600 dollars, which will be covering my housing, food, and transportation during my time in Peru.
