This dedicated CRNA fund was created to support CRNAs who would like to attend medical mission trips through One World Surgery (OWS), whose mission is to transform lives through surgical care and ignite the spirit of service.

The provision of surgery is supported and enabled by excellent anesthesia clinicians, and this is also true and necessary for surgical medical mission trips. Typically, a team of 1-2 anesthesiologists and 3-4 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNAs) are required to perform life-changing surgeries during week-long trips.

In the US, there is an ongoing shortage of anesthesia providers - particularly CRNAs - and these clinicians are oftentimes unable to financially support their ability to travel to and volunteer at OWS sites. This fund is intended to support specific volunteers, specific mission dates and/or give general support to CRNA volunteers in order to facilitate CRNAs' ability to actively participate and volunteer for One World Surgery medical missions.
