One of my foremost interests is in the field of sustainability. More specifically, food justice, environmental justice, and energy security form the crux of my interest in sustainability. As a brigadeer on the Global Business Brigade, my hope is to work with a diverse mix of individuals with the common goals of not only aiding underprivileged local members of the rural Honduras community, but taking away valuable lessons in community building, culture, and sustainable living.

Having never ventured outside of South Korea and a handful of states in America, I am beyond excited for the Honduras Brigade as it presents a unique opportunity for me to put into practice the ample experience in Spanish I have gained from my years living in Los Angeles along with many semesters of academic engagement. The budding business acumen and strategic problem-solving mindset I have developed as a student here at Cal will flourish in this new environment.

Currently, I am fundraising to go on this trip which will cover my airfare and program costs. I am concurrently working in San Francisco two times a week and am trying to cover as much of the expenses as possible through my own efforts. The last time I put myself out there and fundraised for a program, I had a life-changing experience at Stanford (Go Bears!) where I spent three weeks tackling political issues alongside students from around the globe.
