UFlorida Medical Internship to Mexico, July 2025

Emily's Message

Hi, my name is Emily. I am a rising 3rd year student now majoring in anthropology under the pre-med track I am excited to share that I’ll be heading to Mexico on a mission trip to assist with a medical clinic! This opportunity means so much to me because I’m passionate about helping others and gaining hands-on experience in healthcare. Providing medical care to underserved communities is not just a learning experience—it’s a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Our team is working hard to bring medical supplies, resources, and care to those who need it most, but we can’t do it alone. If you’re able, please consider donating to support our mission. Your generosity will help provide essential medical treatments, supplies, and outreach to those who otherwise wouldn’t have access to care. Every contribution, big or small, makes an impact!

Please keep our team in your thoughts as we prepare for this journey. Thank you for your support!

Volunteer Activity Description

Join the U Florida University chapter as they lead a Medical Outreach Internship to Mexico this upcoming Summer! interns will work in mobile medical clinics, where they will have the opportunity to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, take vitals, shadow local physicians, work in the pharmacy, teach education classes, and much more! If you’re interested in joining, contact us for more information!

VAW Global at U Florida University will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Mexico.

One of the most exciting and important parts of interning with VAW Global is bringing medication to the less fortunate. In 2023, VAW Global treated over 17,500 patients and we aspire to treat over 20,000 in 2024! One of the things that make our mobile clinics unique is that we not only triage and diagnose patients, but also provide them with the basic medications needed. Fundraising for medications is a huge part of creating a successful mobile clinic to help the local communities with effective care.
