The Turning Winds Academy-Refugee Support Squad is traveling to Greece from April 12-21, 2019. As a Refugee Support Squad will volunteer at the Ritsona Refugee Center located 20 minutes outside of Chalkida, Greece. Managed by the UN’s International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Ritsona camp houses over 900 refugees seeking asylum throughout the EU. The group will assist with much-needed tangible small construction and infrastructure projects listed below. Each afternoon the group will engage in guided cultural activities and local excursions in the local area. On the weekend enjoy a full day guided tour of Athens and Evia Island.

Group Infrastructure Projects include:
Ritsona Refugee Camp- Pre-School Development Project:
Painting containers to create little pockets of educational space
Interactive games and puzzles
Use blackboard paint on a few areas
Flooring-Gravel
Use pallets to create tables, things to sit on, and other structures
Use the barrels to make little tables
Construct a little play area
Fence to close in the horse-shoe
