As a child, I found comfort in going to my childhood doctor, Dr. Barnes, who was gentile, supporting, and enthusiastic about me as a patient. It hurts me deeply to see patients fear the clinicians that brought me so much joy. Especially abroad, the fear of dentistry is inescapable but not unconquerable.
