My name is Jasmine Sims and I am a Senior at San Diego Christian College majoring in Biological Science: Pre-Medical. My goal is to be a missionary surgeon with a Cardio Thoracic specialty. I have a heart for people and a passion for medicine. I have been in the realm of medicine for a number of years as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Surgical Technologist, as well as in the sphere of global missions in five different countries outside the United States.

My desire in working with Volunteers Around the World is to give students not just a hands on experience in medicine, but a firsthand experience in helping people in need of medical care who otherwise would be at a loss. I am super excited to be leading the 2nd global trip for our chapter to Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic this summer! Balance and diligence are my focus as I work to prepare the hearts and minds of our team members, and my hope is that it will be a long lasting legacy of service through medicine for students to come!
