Many of you know I had the privilege of attending several medical mission trips to Honduras over the last few years. They had a need for General Volunteers, and I was able to find enough support from people like you, to attend those trips. In March 2024, I have the good fortune to attend another Brigade to the Dominican Republic. Please consider donating to our trip if you are able!
One World Surgery is a global surgery nonprofit with a mission to ignite the spirit of service and transform lives by providing access to high-quality surgical care globally. Their three cornerstone programs include operating global surgery centers, leading surgical medical missions, and building the capacity of local medical professionals through education and training. During week-long medical mission trips, physicians, other clinical participants, nonclinical participants, and family members come together to perform life-changing surgeries. In addition to their clinic at Holy Family Surgery Center in Honduras, they are opening a new clinic located in the Dominican Republic between Santo Domingo and Punta Cana on the property of their partner, Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH). They will offer Primary care, surgical care, optometry services to both Dominicans and Haitian immigrants. Primary care services are currently offered in the local communities, called bateys. the primary care clinic and surgery center will be fully operational in 2024!
