Fundraiser for El Coyolar de Namasigue in Honduras - John Burroughs School Global STEM Squad

Fundraising Campaign Description
Students at John Burroughs School in St. Louis, Missouri, USA are aiming to raise $5000 for their engineering project in El Coyolar, Honduras. The students designed a water system to bring running water to each of the homes in the community. Your donation will be used to test the water quantity and quality and to purchase materials to complete the project. The students in the Engineering Fundamentals course at John Burroughs School are Addison, Ahmad, Audrey, Brendan, Bridey, Claire, DJ, Gavin D, Gavin W, Mawdo, Quincy, and Thomas. Their instructor is Martha Keeley.
Global STEM Squads mobilizes students abroad to improve access to clean water in rural under resourced communities through applying STEM skills. Volunteers work alongside local engineers to assess, design, and construct infrastructure projects that range from rainwater harvesters that supply drinking water for local schools to large scale community-wide water systems that pipe water directly into households. STEM Squads is a program of Global Brigades, a highly recognized international development organization that uniquely implements a Holistic Model that targets specific UN Sustainable Development goals within partner communities. Our model systematically builds community ownership and collaboratively executes programs with the end goal of sustainably transitioning to a relationship of impact monitoring.
