Volunteer Activity Description

Start Date: Jan 5, 2015 7:30 AM
End Date: Jan 15, 2015 11:30 PM

Thank you for your interest in our environmental group quest to Ecuador in January 2015. You can either become a part of our quest by joining our group or you can help us out in achieving our goals and making it possible for us to travel on this amazing journey to Ecuador by donating to us and helping us fundraise. We plan to travel through United Planet's Group Quests program and enjoy the rich experiences Ecuador has to offer.

Our group will be working in the small cloud-forest community an hour away from Quito. This community has taken great strides in the path of sustainable development while maintaining both its cultural and natural heritage. Here, volunteers assist almost fifty families on local projects such as the production of jams, cheeses, sustainable agriculture, reforestation, research and tourism.

The group quest includes:
- Lodging
- Meals
- Language lessons, cultural activities and excursions tailored to the group's interests
- Online or in-person pre-departure training with our Boston staff
- In-country airport transportation
- Emergency medical and travel insurance for all group members
- 24/7 in-country support and supervision, ensuring complete safety
- United Planet t-shirts for all members
- With every 10 volunteers, one group leader goes free of charge

We welcome your support and appreciate all the help you can provide. You can ask us any question regarding the quest and if you are interested in joining us in this quest you can visit the United Planet website for more details.
