Passionate About:

Hi! My name is Josilyn Zamora and I attend Sacramento State University. I am a third year biology major pursuing my long term dream to become a sports medicine doctor. As part of my growth and passion, I will be joining California State University, Sacramento Medical Outreach trip to Peru in August 2017. As a volunteer, I will have the opportunity to work in mobile medical clinics and shadow local physicians. Opening the door, for a hands on experience to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, work in the pharmacy, and teach education classes to name a few areas. Thank you in advance for your support!

Fundraising Campaign Message

VAW at California State University, Sacramento will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Dominican Republic.

One of the most exciting and important parts of volunteering with VAW is bringing medication to the less fortunate. In 2015, VAW treated over 30,000 patients and we aspire to treat over 50,000 in 2016. One of the things that make our mobile clinics unique is that we not only triage and diagnose patients, but also provide them with the basic medications needed. Fundraising for medications is a huge portion of creating a successful mobile clinic to help the local communities with effective care.
