Kaiden's Message

I have been HONORED to be selected in this group of amazing students at Grambling State University to embark on a journey to Peru to assist with working in a medical clinic. We will travel June 27-July 11 2023. We will be working in mobile medical clinics, conducting public health surveys, taking vitals, shadowing local physicians, working in the pharmacy, teaching education classes, and much. We will also donate supplies to the clinic. Please help me continue my medical journey and have this gracious opportunity to explore healthcare globally. The cost of the trip is $1,995 (not including airfare). Donations are GREATLY WELCOMED and no donation is too large or too small. THANK YOU to my village for supporting #PagingDoctorDrain!!

Volunteer Activity Description

Join the Grambling State University chapter as they lead a Medical Outreach Internship to Peru this upcoming Summer! interns will work in mobile medical clinics, where they will have the opportunity to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, take vitals, shadow local physicians, work in the pharmacy, teach education classes, and much more! VAW Global at Grambling State University will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Peru.

One of the most exciting and important parts of interning with VAW Global is bringing medication to the less fortunate. In 2019, VAW Global treated over 35,000 patients and we aspire to treat over 45,000 in 2022! One of the things that make our mobile clinics unique is that we not only triage and diagnose patients, but also provide them with the basic medications needed. Fundraising for medications is a huge part of creating a successful mobile clinic to help the local communities with effective care.
