Sustainable Development Summer Internship Ghana

Lorri's Message

Hi y'all!

My name is Lorri Marlow. Aside from having the travel bug in general, working in Africa in the field of international development has always been on my bucket list. I've been offered an internship with Global Brigades in Ghana and I'm taking the leap and accepting the offer! Please help me reach my dream by donating to my trip.

Why you ask? I have always had a passion for human rights, social justice, and for helping those who have no voice to help themselves. While research and school have given me ample opportunities to study international development, hands on work is 100 times better. I can only hope to give back half as much as what I know this program is going to give to me.

Any little bit helps! No words can express how thankful I am for your support.

Volunteer Activity Description

IMPORTANT DEADLINES:

For early acceptance summer interns (Notified between March 23rd-27th)

$250 downpayment to secure a program spot must be uploaded to this Empowered page via your profile by April 10th 2013

Why Participate in the Internship?

From a 2012 Summer Intern-

"For the first several weeks after I got home from the internship, I was unable to talk about anything else. I told anyone and everyone who would listen everything I had done, learned, and experienced. Spending a whole month in Honduras working with Global Brigades and getting a glimpse of its long-term successes inspired me and brought me alive. And from conversations with my fellow interns, I know they felt the same transformation and the same desire to share their experience when they returned home."
