PROGRAM TERMS, CONTRIBUTIONS, AND DUE DATES:

Group Project Contribution: $1500 total per group towards the group project due January 15th

TECHO is an organization that seeks to overcome the situation of poverty that thousands of people live in precarious settlements, through the joint action of its residents and young volunteers. TECHO has the conviction that poverty can be overcome definitively if society as a whole manages to recognize that this is a priority problem and actively works to solve it. TECHO builds participatory spaces in settlement and develops concrete solutions together with the people of the community, to address the identified needs.

Your squad will work on the construction of a library in a neighborhood in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. You will be responsible in every aspect of the execution of this project, from helping create the building to beautifying the inside. Your group will also assist in helping revitalize the outdoor play area and garden area. In addition your group will also lead educational workshops each weekday for neighborhood children ages 5-12. Working alongside members of TECHO and the neighborhood throughout the week to complete these these projects your group will make a profound and lasting impact in the community!
