Volunteer Activity Description

Start Date: Mar 5, 2011 10:00 PM
End Date: Mar 12, 2011 10:00 PM

CMU's Panama Brigade is a family of diverse students focused on inciting
change. Last year, our team, which consisted of 12 students, one
faculty advisor and 6 international non-profit organizations, worked
to develop agro-tourism by assisting small farm owners in Barrigon in
creating the structure necessary for a sustainable agro-tourism
industry in this community. We communicated with the farmers and local
organizations throughout the last 2 years and
visited the region in two spring breaks to implement the groundwork of
our plan. In the coming year we will be undertaking a new project with
a different community and we hope to have an even greater impact. For
the upcoming project we would be working towards the realization of
another
business in a well-deserving community!
