Passionate About:

medicine and hope to become a doctor. I've always admired selflessness and want to help people in a way that changes they're lives for the better. I first believed I could accomplish this by being an author or priest. However, I learned I could help people when they are weakest (in sickness). I hope to not only cure illnesses, but do so in an invigorating way. I do not exactly know how I will be able to invigorate people's lives, but hope to know by the time I am a physician. Lastly, I love english and for this reason I am a Pre-Med student majoring in English at Georgetown University.

March 2011 Georgetown University Medical Brigade

Volunteer Activity Description

Medical Brigade volunteers set up medical clinics in pre-identified communities to provide healthcare where access is limited. Each community receives a brigade every 3-4 months and between brigades the in-country team maintains relationships with the communities to provide follow-up and conducts community health worker trainings to empower local leaders to perpetuate a consistent level of healthcare.
