End Date: Aug 8, 2014 12:00 AM

The Public Health Brigades at NYU is a discipline of Global Brigades, the world\'s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. The Public Health Brigade chapter systematically works with more than 350 other university groups around the world to deliver and implement one of nine skill-based programs that benefit more than 130,000 Honduran, Panamanian, and Ghanaian community members annually.

Public Health Brigades in Honduras works specifically with four entities to carryout in-home infrastructure projects, improving health and hygiene community wide. The collaboration among all other GB program teams, local community members, local government, and our student volunteers plays an essential role in the completion and sustainability of each project. Each of the five projects – clean-burning stoves, cement floors, showers, water storage units and latrines – are designed to prevent many common and reoccurring illnesses that plague rural Honduran communities.
