Volunteer Activity Description

Start Date: Jun 5, 2011 11:00 AM
End Date: Jun 11, 2011 11:00 AM

Volunteers travel to remote areas of Honduras where Global Brigades is currently doing medical work, water projects and microfinance solutions to help improve the families’ health and standard of living by changing the environmental conditions of where they live. During brigades, in teams of 3-4, volunteers work with the guidance of a public health staff member to build either a latrine, pila (water storage unit), eco-stove, or concrete floors. Each evening of the brigade, staff members review the steps to completing projects with volunteers and are always on hand to help oversee the actual construction. In addition to the infrastructural improvements, great lengths are made to give educational workshops with the families. For more info: http://globalbrigades.org/?page_id=958
