This April I will be going to ghana with Cardiff Dental brigades to provide essential dental aid to a small community.

There are 148 dentists in the whole of Ghana, which equates to approximately 155,000 people per dentist. The majority of dentists in Ghana work in the two main cities of the country. The rural areas however, have virtually no dental care available to the people. We feel that every individual has the right of access to healthcare and we wish to try and help in our small way to redress these health inequalities.

As a brigade we plan to treat approximately 250 patients and provide oral hygiene instruction and education to the surrounding local communities of over 400 people.
