Passionate About:

I am passionate about teaching and sharing information that everyone should have the opportunity to learn. This is especially imperative in the topic of health. I have been volunteering through an organization called Peer Health Exchange. For almost 3 years I have been visiting public high schools to teach health workshops to students who otherwise would not receive health education. Now it is time to take some of this vital information to other countries. However, I cannot make this trip on my own. Any donations you could make to help me in my efforts would be greatly appreciated.

Below is a breakdown of trip expenses for the 7 day trip:
Airfare: $675
In-country costs: $750
Mandatory International Health Insurance: $35
Country Exit Tax: $34
Shuttle fare: $26
Medical Supply Donation: $50-$100
Vaccinations: $90
Approximate Total Cost: $1710

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.

Volunteer Activity Message

Public Health Brigades is a discipline of Global Brigades, the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. The Columbia chapter systematically works with more than 300 other university groups around the world to deliver and implement one of nine skill-based programs that benefit more than 130,000 Honduran and Panamanian community members annually.

The brigade begins with an introduction to the challenges that face community members. The following days the volunteers travel to one of Global Brigades' partner communities to implement health education, meet with community leaders, conduct survey research, and work alongside the community as an international team to construct four health projects.
