The mission of Medical Brigades is to work with community health workers to provide comprehensive health services in rural communities with limited access to healthcare.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to shadow and assist licensed physicians, while those with greater medical experience (me!) have the opportunity to take on a larger leadership role during triage and health education workshops. By becoming familiar with the prevalent health issues in the community and learning how to prevent and treat those illnesses, this brigade provides each volunteer with the opportunity to make a tangible impact on a specific community.

The cost of the brigade is 100% funded by the volunteers, and not included in my goal is the cost of the flight, which is another £500. This is an amazing opportunity that I would not like to miss.
