Sabrina's Message

Hi Everyone!

My name is Sabrina Wu and I'm currently a freshmen at UC Berkeley with an intended Business Administration major and possible Public Policy or Global Poverty and Practice Minor. My passion for business and love for traveling and helping the underprivileged has inspired me to go on this week business brigade to Panama this summer. After traveling throughout Southeast Asia this past winter break, I was truly amazed by the different cultures and lifestyles that people abroad all experience. I believe that it's important for people to be culturally aware and am passionate to share my interest in business with others abroad. Any donation, no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated! Either way, even if you can't donate now, I appreciate everybody even remotely taking the time to read this long message and thank you for your help and support in my endeavors!

Volunteer Activity Description

Global Brigades offers 7-day Business Brigades throughout the year in Honduras and Panama. Business Brigades volunteers empowers rural communities in Panama without access to financial services and business guidance by providing micro-enterprise counseling, financial planning assistance and strategic investment. During the brigade, volunteers divide into small groups to conduct client visits in which they get to know the client and assess each client’s level of financial competency, entrepreneurial aspirations, and/or business knowledge. Volunteers then provide educational and capacity building assistance in the form of workshops. Topics range from personal finance to basic accounting and business planning.
