Passionate About:

Hi everyone! I am a senior at Indiana University completing a public health management degree and I plan to pursue a career in global health. I am particularly interested in how global health efforts are used as a tool in international development and poverty relief efforts. I have completed one water brigade and I was a summer institute intern with GB this past summer. I have been studying rural community health initiatives in Southeast Asia for five months now. I am so excited to be returning to Nicaragua as a leader for this year's IU Water Brigade! Cheke leke chicos

Volunteer Activity Message

During their 3 weeks in Nicaragua, students will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they obtain about international development and health topics towards the continued advancement of GB Nicaragua’s Medical, Public Health, and Microfinance programs. In addition, participants will develop their leadership skills through hands-on and discussion-based workshops. Students will lead and participate in nightly discussions on public health and development topics and also witness the complexities of cross-cultural development during day trips to our various projects. Group reflections will include constructing a personal mission and vision for a lifetime of leadership as well as an opportunity to discuss the different leadership styles that they and the other students utilize. At the end of the internship, participants will receive a certificate of completion from Global Brigades.
