    The Long Island chapter of Volunteers Around the World (VAW) consists of students that are enthusiastic and committed about addressing the health disparities that currently exists in developing countries. Through close collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organization, Volunteers Around the World, our club at Long Island strives towards providing rural communities in developing countries access towards medical treatment, medication and nutritional and health education.

Long Island Medical Outreach trip to Peru, August 2017


Volunteer Activity Description
Join the Long Island Medical chapter as they lead a Medical Outreach trip to Peru this upcoming Summer! Volunteers will work in mobile medical clinics, where they will have the opportunity to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, take vitals, shadow local physicians, work in the pharmacy, teach education classes, and much more!
