Fundraising Campaign Description

End Date: Mar 24, 2013 12:00 AM

Volunteers will pledge to walk 6 kilometers in the Boston University Track and Tennis Center On March 23rd to symbolize the burden that women and children face around the world each day when they have to walk to find usable water. 6km (3.7 miles) represents the average distance that women and children have to walk each day so that they can obtain water to drink and work with. Volunteers will find donors to support their efforts and to show solidarity with the people around the world who do not have local and sustainable sources of clean water. 100% of the proceeds raised will go towards Global Water Brigades\' national campaign to raise money for the purchase and installation of a well and pump water system for a Honduran community previously lacking access to clean and sustainable water.
