Water Filters for the community of El Caragual, Honduras

MAYFIELD SENIOR SCHOOL aims to continue to contribute in some way to the health and economic needs of the rural community of El Caragual, Honduras. Through this fundraiser, Mayfield Senior School students will be able to help purchase water filters for the community members to provide them with access to clean water.

El Caragual is located within the municipality of Nacaome in the department of Valle in Southern Honduras. The typical house is made of adobe and mud. Children in the community have access up to 6th grade. El Caragual has no water system in existence. Most of the community members work in agriculture. The top needs expressed by El Caragual‘s inhabitants during their initial communications with Global Brigades are a water system, public health projects, and access to health care.
