Yolanis R Guevora Patient Referral

Yolanis is 13 years old, and lives with her mom, stepdad, and little brother in the hills of La Yeguada, West Panama. Since she was little, Yolanis has suffered from cerebral palsy. She can walk, though she uses a cane and walks very slowly. She has been able to keep up with her school work; her step dad carries her to school once or twice a week to pick up and turn in her homework, and so she can benefit from classroom learning. It takes at least an hour each way for him to carry her. Yolanis attened the SUNY New Paltz Medical clinic in May 2013, where she really made an impact on the students. They are working to fundraise for her and her family.
