Dear reader,
Hi, I hope you are doing well. I'm writing to inquire with you to support me and the VAW organization. VAW is a global health and development organization that partners with local professionals to develop sustainable and equitable access to medical care. VAW's Ohio State Medical Chapter provides students the opportunity to work alongside local healthcare professionals in a Medical Outreach program. In this program, students work closely with community partners to implement medical clinics across low- and middle-income countries. Through shadowing local physicians, students also learn about disease diagnosis, treatment courses, clinic operations, and basic pharmacology. Just a small donation can help provide communities with improved access to medical treatment. We also work to provide medication, nutritional security, clean water, and health education to these communities. Thank you for your time and consideration!

Volunteer Activity Description

Join the Ohio State University chapter as they lead a Medical Outreach Internship to Mexico this upcoming Summer! interns will work in mobile medical clinics, where they will have the opportunity to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, take vitals, shadow local physicians, work in the pharmacy, teach education classes, and much more! If you’re interested in joining, contact us for more information!

VAW Global at Ohio State university will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Mexico.

One of the most exciting and important parts of interning with VAW Global is bringing medication to the less fortunate. In 2023, VAW Global treated over 17,500 patients and we aspire to treat over 20,000 in 2024! One of the things that make our mobile clinics unique is that we not only triage and diagnose patients, but also provide them with the basic medications needed. Fundraising for medications is a huge part of creating a successful mobile clinic to help the local communities with effective care.
