Global Health Summer Internship Ghana(July)

Caroline's Message

Hello :) My name is Caroline Coley. I am a Public Health major with a healthy appetite for humanitarian work. My first service trip was a public health brigade to a community in rural honduras. I saw first hand the desolate circumstances in which these people live and was changed forever. I knew I had to get more experiences like this so I applied to Global Brigades Global Health Summer Internship in... GHANA!

I have wanted to travel to Africa since I was very young and I was lucky enough to be selected out of 600 applicants to go this summer!

My excitement is through the roof and my gratitude is beyond words. Not many have an opportunity like this.

However, I need to raise funds for my trip by June 6th as I leave July 5th for a whole month's stay in the beautiful country of Ghana :)

$4,000 is the total amount I need to raise (even though the sidebar only says $2,500). This covers my flight, food/water, and shelter and the resources, tools and supplies needed for community development projects and initiatives I will be overseeing with the in-country staff.

"Never doubt that a group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, that is all that ever has".

Please donate whatever you are able and thank you for your support!

Why Participate in the Internship?

From a 2012 Summer Intern-

"For the first several weeks after I got home from the internship, I was unable to talk about anything else. I told anyone and everyone who would listen everything I had done, learned, and experienced. Spending a whole month in Honduras working with Global Brigades and getting a glimpse of its long-term successes inspired me and brought me alive. And from conversations with my fellow interns, I know they felt the same transformation and the same desire to share their experience when they returned home."
