I am very passionate about the medical field and all of its advancements. I feel as if everyone should have access to proper healthcare facilities and Volunteers Around the World was a great way for me to become more involved. Through, this organization I was able to reach out and help those in countries who are not as fortunate as ours. Along with this, I was able to connect with a great group of people, whom, I now call my close friends.

About Us

The University of Georgia chapter of Around the World (VAW) consists of students that are enthusiastic and committed about addressing the health disparities that currently exists in developing countries. Through close collaboration with the Non-Governmental Organization, Volunteers Around the World, our club at UGA strives towards providing rural communities in developing countries access towards medical treatment, medication and nutritional and health education.

University of Georgia Medical Internship to Guatemala, March 2025 Join the University of Georgia chapter as they lead a Medical Outreach Internship to Guatemala this upcoming Spring! interns will work in mobile medical clinics, where they will have the opportunity to intake patients, conduct public health surveys, take vitals, shadow local physicians, work in the pharmacy, teach education classes, and much more! If you’re interested in joining, contact us for more information! VAW Global at University of Georgia will be opening up mobile medical clinics for local communities during their time in Guatemala. One of the most exciting and important parts of interning with VAW Global is bringing medication to the less fortunate.
