Redwood Nicaragua Spring Break 2015 (FULL)

Volunteer Activity Description

TRAVEL.
Explore Nicaragua\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s colonial cities, swim in stunning volcanic crater lakes, experience the torrential force of a cloud forest waterfall, and enjoy local fare. Give back, and collaborate on local projects with international peers.

LEARN.
GSE uses hands-on service-learning projects and cultural exchanges to provide students with life changing learning opportunities. Students develop ecological literacy and participate in grassroots international relations while building crucial 21st century skills such as communication and collaboration.

IMPACT.
Each year during exchange programs, students work along side their Nicaragua peers to further create and maintain school gardens. The garden provides produce for the comedor program which feeds primary school students a daily meal, and offers an interactive education on local food systems and organic farming.

GROW.
Plants aren’t the only things that grow! International travel facilitates profound transformation for students. Students leave the trip with a better understanding of different cultures and people, inspiring them to become change makers and leaders in their own community.
