I am super excited to have the amazing opportunity to travel for 2 weeks and help out in a mobile medical clinic in an underdeveloped community in Peru this May. If you know me then you know I love to travel and explore new places and I am super passionate about medical care and fundraising and awareness of cancer and diseases.
I love that I am getting to go on such a humbling trip in which I get to give my time to a community that really needs our help in bettering its medical care while getting to experience the communities culture. My two week adventure includes 2 travel days, a day to acclimate to the climate, 6 clinical days, an education day, and 4 free days. While I am there I will be working in the clinic for 6 days and will be taking vitals, getting patients history, shadowing doctors, and helping out in the pharmacy. I also will have a day to hang out with kids at a school teaching them some basic hygiene skills and just spending time with them. We also will be given 4 days to explore the area. During this time I plan to tour some local historical and stunning destinations including Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.
