Hello! I'm a 1st year pre-med student at UC Berkeley, hoping to major in molecular and cell biology with an emphasis on neurobiology. I'm originally from Bangkok, Thailand, and have lived there my entire life before coming to Berkeley to study. I'm a part of an organization called Volunteers Around the World, which is a group of students that travel to various parts of the world and set up local medical clinics in rural areas. This summer, we will be travelling to Guatemala to help aid and tend to many people that do not regularly have access to healthcare. Every single cent that is made through this account will go towards fundraising our trip, as well as funding for the medicine, the doctors, and any supplies/equipment that we may need in the clinic.

I will be travelling there early June, but in order to pay for the program and the plane tickets at a reasonable price, I hope to reach my goal of $1,750 by early March.

This project means so much to me personally, since coming from Thailand, I have seen so many people that do not have proper access to healthcare. It's incredibly devastating, and unfair that it is so difficult for these people to get checked up to make sure that they are relatively healthy. One of my dreams is to work for organizations similar to Doctors Without Borders, where I can tend to people in developing countries that truly need my help. This trip is definitely a stepping stone to this bigger dream of mine, and so if you could donate some money to this cause, I will be so grateful. Even just a couple of dollars will help!
