Hello friends and family!! I’m super excited to share that I have recently accepted an opportunity to travel to Cần Thơ, Vietnam on a voluntary medical outreach program. This is something that I am extremely passionate about and have always been wanting to do.

I’m volunteering with an organization called Volunteers Around the World (VAW). It is a humanitarian organization devoted to improving the standard of living for those that live in rural, poverty stricken communities. Their mission is to provide communities with access to medical and dental treatment, medications, nutritional security, clean water and health education. As a future healthcare professional, one of my goals and passions is closing the gaps in healthcare. I believe healthcare disparities are some of the world’s leading issues and I want to help change that. Through this volunteer opportunity, I can help provide quality health care and education to those who need it the most. On top of that, I will get to immerse myself in another culture other than my own and learn about what the country of Vietnam has to offer!

However, since this trip is completely voluntary, program fees such as transportation, housing, medical supplies and airfare will be coming out of my pocket. I have been setting aside some money for this trip but still need a lot of help. If you would like to donate to help cover some of these costs, I would be so grateful.
