My name is Mariah Fraumeni and I am junior at UC Davis who is pursuing a A.B. in Science and Technology Studies and an A.S. in Cultural Anthropology and Environmental Science. My ultimate educational goal is to attend medical school where I will specialize in trauma and emergency services in the hopes of working as a physician or surgeon for a non-governmental organization, such as Partners in Health.

I was raised by a single mother and have a 10 year-old highly special needs brother who has been diagnosed with autism, cerebral palsy and mild retardation. Due to the severity of my brother's conditions, he requires physical, occupational, behavioral and speech services six times a week and therefore I have been responsible for funding my college education and any additional expenses.

I volunteered for the Public Health Brigades because I would love the opportunity to assist in public health initiatives that emphasize community development and enrichment. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your taking the time to read my story.
