Hi Everyone,

My name is Sean Olalia and I am senior nursing student at the University of San Francisco. I recently was presented the wonderful opportunity to embark in a medical outreach to Peru this Summer of 2024. Through this internship, I will be able to work closely with community partners to implement a medical clinic in low to middle income countries. Here, I will learn more about healthcare in a global context. I will be shadowing local physicians and as an interns I will also learn about disease diagnosis, treatment courses, clinic operations, and basic pharmacology.

I really wanted to leave USF and graduate being able to use the skills and knowledge I learned through the program to help and spread knowledge to others so that they too can be empowered with knowledge and help as well. I want to use this opportunity to make my last semester of schooling before graduating a chance to give back to the community and be able to make a small change in someone's life no matter how big the change is. I had previously attended something similar before in high school and it was really amazing to see the change we can provide small communities in varying countries and it really is life changing work!

I am here to ask for a little bit of help to fund my trip which would enable me to go for this internship! Goal really is just to get somewhere near the money needed for funding to lessen what else is needed. Anything definitely helps and I would really appreciate this big help!
